Check out the port and sites in Mahón, Menorca’s capital city. It’s a great base to explore the island of Menorca, particularly Mahon and Es Castell. Plus, whilst doing the latter you can learn all about its development and the Battle of Menorca that took place a few miles away. Check out the Xoriguer gin distillery on Mahons waterfront if you go, free samples of all their products, but leave the car behind! I love this little paradise. And I don’t mean the local tour guides or concierges in posh hotels, just the normal people who live in that destination. From the first day, Menorca surprised me.
