it was a much better show than I remember which makes me very happy that I purchased the series. He also ... VEI really botched these discs and there is a noticable difference when compared side-by-side with earlier editions; and to make matters worse, they knew it by adding a disclaimer to every disc saying they did the best they could with what they had to work with!! I immediately made Amazon aware, but it seems that they may still be selling the original set, even though I gave them complete details about the issue and recommended they contact VEI.

I only wish the seasons were longer.

This show apparently had a 5 year run but I can't say that I watched it up until the end. Wonderful show. It is much like the Love Boat, or Love American Style series. Trying for the missing three shows that night, I learned the new Seas5 #2 disc was equally flawed.

We follow the guests and staff at the hotel from 1928 and into the 1940s. Victoria Cabot runs the hotel for absent owner Laura Trent (Bette Davis, seen only in the opening episode), until Cabot dies halfway through the series, when manager Peter McDermott takes over and makes Christine the new manager. A great collection of favourite actors from different other TV series. Hotel is a great investment in nostalgia TV and a superb, excellent value for your entertainment dollars.

The series itself is quite excellent with many guest stars of the time, and many good story lines like Hailey's book. The first 3 seasons were great!

Fie opens the hotel. The picture and sound quality is excellent. With Josefine Preuß, Heino Ferch, Marie Bäumer, Wotan Wilke Möhring. Missed her in show. Wonderful show.
